Used to produce the mortar specimens for compression and flexural tests. Made from special alloy steel, they are proposed in two version:

  • Standard 65-L0010/A having a minimum surface hardness of HV200 and
  • Heavy duty 65-L0010/B having a minimum surface hardness of HV400 which is recommended by the EN standards. Furthermore, this model is surface protected by a rust inhibitor treatment and is supplied complete with traceable certificate of conformity and identified by a serial number.

Both models can be fit with the 65-L0010/5 type B measuring pegs for determining the coefficient of thermal expansion conforming to EN 1770. See accessories.

The list below is by no means exhaustive but wants to give some recommendations for correct use of molds. For more information, please always refer to the user manual.

  • Molds must be kept clean and free from residues. This is essential to extend the lifespan of the molds and prevent any defects on sample surfaces. Clean the molds of any residues within 24 hours after demolding to prevent encrustations.
  • Before casting, it is strongly recommended coat the internal mold faces with a thin layer of a demolding agent (e.g. cod. C0139/A) that facilitates removal of hardened samples during demolding operations.
