Soundness
After setting, cement shall maintain a stable volume, without any significant delayed expansion, mainly caused by excessive amounts of free lime (CaO) or magnesia (MgO). Sound cements better resist cracking and disruption. Soundness can be determined either by Le Chatelier or Autoclave methods.
