Binder and Solvent Recovery
Binder recovery allows for the collection of a sample of binder separated from the mix by solvent extraction. Thanks to the controlled atmosphere (vacuum or neutral gas) the binder is not oxidized by the process and can be used for binder tests. The most common binder recovery systems are the rotary evaporator and the Abson method. The solvent can also be recycled by distillation and reused for further binder extractions.
